  1. I agree about the kind of knowledge because it is only by observating the aspects of English in different context. the researcher does not put in practice this theory he only compare it in various parts of the world. I consider that is a good analysis of this article, it is clear.

  2. I like the topic that you chose because I agree about that languages are constantly changing. I also agree about the observations that you made to identify the type and kind of research. As you mentioned, It seems that this journal is priori because is based on observation. Moreover, the kind of research it seems to be applied, because they based their work in theory; however, I wonder if they did not use another instruments for this research.

  3. Everybody is conscious that languages always change. I agree about the statement that you made at the moment to identify the type of knowledge and the kind of research. What I could observe is that this is a priori knowledge because basically it is based on observations. I like that the researcher bases his study in a stablish theory. I like this kind of research because you can observe the differences.

  6. This is a very controversial question on whether there is standard English or not. I've hardly ever thought there is some sort of standard English if by that we think of "standard English" as the oft-used form of English and which can then be referred to as such. According to my experience as a language learner I have seen this question utterly confusing and chiefly if I'm not well-informed about what the most spoken and written form of English is used all over the world. When I was learning the language, I used to hearing that American English was the most popular one and, therefore, the most oft-used form of English, hence the idea that AmE is what ought to be learnt, especially those countries that adjoin the US. Furthermore, I've found further information about the matter and, guess what I've found!! BrE appears to be the most used form of English, not in terms of an accent, but in terms of spelling, gramaticality, syntax, complexity, and phonetics. I agree with my classmates on the question that language is constantly changing. Then, starting from the premiss that language comes in different forms I've got to say there is not at all only one form of English. It's just a question of adjustage that's the behavioural process of balancing conflicting needs, or needs against obstacles in the environment.

  7. Thank you for your comments Karina, Astrid, Melesio and Humberto. A very interesting and controversial topic! More studies in this field are required though.

  8. Karla and Daniel,
This is a good example of studies that required to be conducted. More analysis elements need to be presented in order to determine the type of knowledge. Do some review about the type of reseach and let us know if it is appriori or empirical. Good job!
